Tim Orton


Tim is the Managing Director and founder of Nous Group. He works extensively with Boards and Executives on their critical strategic, policy, organisational design and capability, leadership and governance opportunities and challenges. He is unusual in his keen understanding of public policy issues and business strategic imperatives.

Tim is a former board member of the Australia Council for the Arts, and chaired the Board’s Strategy sub-committee, which oversaw the development of the Council’s Strategic Plan: A culturally ambitious nation. Among other and past board positions, Tim is also Chair of Rhodes Scholarships in Australia, a member of the Executive Board of the Committee for Melbourne, and chaired the board of the Geelong Performing Arts Centre for 11 years.

Wai Tang

Deputy Chair

Wai has more than 28 years of working experience in retail and wholesale manufacturing industries.

Shortly after her graduation in 1985, Wai was inducted into the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry by working as a system and process consultant for a period of five years. Since then, she has worked as a manager in leading business process transformation and  improvement at Bowater plc, as a senior management consultant at IBM Consulting Group (Business Transformation) advising major FMCG corporations such as Pacific Dunlop, Kraft, Weston Foods, and Mars, and as General Manager of Business Development for Pacific Brands, a division of Pacific Dunlop, overseeing business strategy development, merger and acquisition and business improvement for 27 business units within Pacific Brands.

From 1999 to 2009, Wai held the position of Group Operations Director for the Just Group. In 2006 in parallel to this role, she was awarded the position of CEO for Peter Alexander Sleepwear, a lifestyle division of the Just Group. She left Just Group in June 2009 to start her own corporate advisory services, as well as a specialty retail concept in confectionery called Happy Lab. In October 2016, Wai and Fiona Myer launched White Storey, a new lifestyle brand that endorse manufacturing in

Her corporate advisory service ranges from boardroom representation as a nonexecutive director to providing strategic advice to many prominent retailers such as Myer, Coles, the Sussan Group, the General Pants Group, Pacific Brands, Yum! Australia, Cosmetic Cubed, G-Star Raw and travel retailer AWPL.

Sally Bruce


Sally joined AMP in August 2015 as Managing Director, AMP Bank and was appointed Group Executive, AMP
Bank in January 2017. Sally is responsible for AMP’s banking business.

Sally has more than 25 years’ experience in banking and financial services. During her five years at NAB, Sally held a number of senior executive positions including Chief Financial Officer, Business and
Personal Banking.

Prior to this, she held a number of senior leadership roles in a 20 year career at Macquarie Group.

Sally has a Bachelor of Commerce, a Masters of Applied Finance and a Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.



Nicole Durling


Based in Melbourne, Nicole Durling is Co-Director of Exhibitions and Collections and Senior Curator at the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) in Hobart. She was personally selected by David Walsh in 2006 as one of MONA’s foundation team and was a key collaborator in the building design, curatorial direction, brand establishment, exhibition design and installation of the MONA collection prior to its opening in 2011.

Working directly with emerging, mid-career and established artists, she has curated and developed projects including music festivals, sound art performances, ephemeral interventions and permanent commissions. At MONA she has co-curated the solo exhibitions Matthew Barney, River of Fundament and Marina Abramović, Private Archaeology, as well as major exhibitions Monaisms, Theatre of the World and The Red Queen. Since 2009 Nicole has been artistic curator on projects for MONA FOMA festival and has been a part of the curatorial team for Dark Mofo festival since 2013.

From 2002 to 2005 Nicole was the first Australian based Contemporary Art
Specialist at Sotheby’s International. Here she worked closely with corporate and major private collections.


Sue Hunt


Sue Hunt has been the CEO of The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Foundation since 2010.  Prior to this Sue was Founding Chief Executive Officer of contemporary arts space and arts business hub, CarriageWorks, Sydney; Director of the Sydney Opera House; General Manager of the Queensland Theatre Company, General Manager of the Geelong Performing Arts Centre and Technical Director of Victoria State Opera

Sue holds a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Melbourne and has held a number of board memberships across a variety of arts and government organisations, including funding and advisory committees in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. She is an alumna of the Strategic Perspectives in Non Profit Management course at the Harvard Business School, the Williamson Community Leadership Program, Leadership Victoria and the Harvard Club Fellowship Program.



David Vodicka


David is the founder of Media Arts Lawyers and Australia’s preeminent music lawyer. With over 25 years’ experience dealing in all facets of entertainment law, David represents many high-profile musicians, celebrities and entertainment companies. In addition, he oversees the firm’s general commercial practice and in the last five years he has concluded over A$100M in mergers and acquisitions including sales of entertainment businesses, festivals and sports tournaments. A passionate advocate for local music and creative industries, David chairs the board of Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR), is a board member of Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) and the Phonographic Performance Company of Australia (PPCA), and a past board member of the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF).



Craig Tiley


Craig is recognised as one of Australia’s most innovative and forward thinking chief executives. His charismatic and passionate nature together with his business acumen has leveraged him to the forefront of sports administration and the leader behind Australia’s largest and most successful international sporting event.

Craig has been Tournament Director of the Australian Open since 2006 and was appointed CEO of Tennis Australia in 2013. His relationship with the playing group and relentless focus on improvement has transformed the Australian Open into the players’ favourite Grand Slam and Australia’s favourite sporting event, bringing 790,000 people through the gates annually, delivering more than $300m in direct economic benefit and reaching a global audience of more than 1 billion.

Under Craig’s leadership, in five years Tennis Australia’s revenue has tripled to surpass $400 million. Craig is also a Male Champion of Change, passionate about shifting mindsets around gender equality and diversity, both on the tennis court and in the workplace.

Prior to joining Tennis Australia, Craig was Director of Tennis at the University of Illinois, where he led the fastest tennis program turnaround in US collegiate history, breaking a 100 year-old record for most consecutive wins. He twice earned the US National Coach of the Year award, which was presented by the President of the United States during a White House Ceremony. He also coached several top ten professional players and captained the South African Davis Cup team.

Craig holds academic degrees in kinesiology, economics and business, has produced two best-selling tennis videos, been a Lieutenant in the Army and has served as a keynote speaker and leadership consultant.
